RAMFAM Rack helps local high school students dress for success

SALISBURY, Md.- Dressing your best can help to impress. Students at Parkside High School are getting a helping hand with that as the school’s RAMFAM Rack is now open.

We’re told the school was looking for ways to support students as they prepare for life after high school.

Grant funding from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is helping in that mission. Students can now get free dress shirts, ties, belts, scrubs, and even shoes. To access the career closet, student’s scan a QR code to fill out a referral form.

Students are also getting more than just clothing as staff say they’re also removing obstacles. “Knowing that you are coming prepared for an interview or coming prepared for a job, it’s just going to lend you to be being more confident. Right? Then that’s one less thing you have to worry about,” Parkside High School Social Worker Tara Kearns said.

“Getting a ride to get to a store to finding new clothing or a uniform, now they don’t have to pay for those things and this is confidential,” Parkside High School CTE School Counselor Valerie Hughes said.

Some Class of 2023 students received items from the career closet for Parkside High School’s recent graduation ceremony.

Local businesses like Vernon Powell Shoes and Uniforms Unlimited are also pitching in clothing and other supplies. We’re told community donations are also being accepted.
