Preston house fire ruled accidental

PRESTON, Md. – A Dorchester County home was destroyed in a fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to 7010 Butler Road at around 7:30 a.m. to battle the two-alarm blaze. Crews worked for just over 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

State fire marshals say the fire was determined to be accidental in nature, caused by an electrical circuit failure. Total damage has been estimated at $85,000.
