Overnight crash claims life of New Jersey man in Worcester Co.

POCOMOKE, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating an overnight crash that claimed the life of a New Jersey man.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m., police responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 113 at Betheden Church Road in Pocomoke. Preliminary investigation has indicated that a white Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on Route 113 when, for unknown reasons, left the roadway and hit a tree.

The driver has been identified as 34-year-old Alexander Prince. He was pronounced dead at the scene. There were three passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, including 33-year-old Vanessa Piquant, and her two children, ages 6 and 8. All three were taken by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
