One arrested, second sought in morning carjacking

DOVER, Del. – One suspect has been arrested and a second remains wanted in connection to an early morning carjacking in Dover.

At around 5:20 a.m., troopers responded to the Walmart located at 36 Jerome Drive for a reported carjacking that had just occurred. A 29-year-old Walmart employee met with troopers, reporting that two unknown men had approached her while she was at her vehicle in the parking lot. One of the suspects allegedly said he had a gun and told the victim to give him the keys to her car. The victim complied, and the suspect took the car and fled. The victim was not injured.

Troopers saw the victim’s car traveling northbound on Dupont Highway near the Smyrna Rest Area and began pursuing it until the driver lost control and crashed south of Summit Bridge Road. The driver fled on foot but was taken into custody a short time later. No injuries were reported.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Cinque Oliver. He was arrested and charged with first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and numerous traffic offenses, and was held at SCI on a $1.1 million cash bond.
