Ocean Pines gearing up for 4th of July festivities
OCEAN PINES, Md.- Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks is gearing up for the return of their 4th of July festivities.
Unfortunately, they had to cancel their annual Freedom 5k due to low registration.
Despite that, the carnival is still on. That will include food, games, and access to bouncy houses with the purchase of a $10 wristband.
The finale of the evening will be the fireworks show.
Director Debbie Donahue tells us proceeds will go to support their special events programming. “The concerts that are free in the park and it offsets costs for other things that are free throughout the year that we offer in the community,” Donahue said.
“I think that as we move into this year, we’ll see quite a few people that have decided it’s time to get back to some normal and enjoy their holiday weekend.”
The carnival will take place on the 4th of July at Veterans Memorial Park in Ocean Pines starting at 5PM.
