New Downtown Salisbury event grant announced
SALISBURY, Md. – A new grant opportunity is available for organizers that are planning events in Downtown Salisbury.
Officials have announced the Downtown Salisbury Event Grant Fund, which will provide selected organizations with $500 to $3,000 to help with costs associated with the production of events. These funds were applied for and received by the city from the Operating Assistance Grant program at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.
We’re told this grant was established to better connect local residents with the Downtown corridor, to energize the local economy, build meaningful partnerships, and elevate community stakeholders.
Project applicants must demonstrate a well-thought-out event experience that considers safety, anticipated attendance, marketing considerations, likelihood of the event continuing, and inclusion. The grants will go to organizations, not individuals.
Applications must be submitted in tandem with a Downtown Salisbury Event Permit. Applications mus be submitted at least 30 days before the event, and if selected, funds will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis only. There is no deadline, as the grants will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The application can be found here.
