UPDATE: Millsboro crash claims life of one, injures another

6/14 UPDATE: Delaware State Police have identified the victim as 26-year-old Marco Flores-Velasquez of Georgetown.

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of one early Sunday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m., police say a 26-year-old Georgetown man was driving a 2014 Ford Mustang westbound on Harmons Hill Road, approaching a slight left curve east of Hollyville Road. The driver reportedly failed to maintain control of the vehicle and veered off the road while spinning before hitting a large metal utility pole.

The driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries and later died from those injuries. His identification is pending notification of next of kin.

The male front seat passenger was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
