MARKS RC Air Show showcases various aircrafts, exposes community to careers in aviation

SALISBURY, Md.- It was an exciting day for aviation lovers as the annual MARKS RC Air Show made a return Sunday afternoon.  The event is put on by the Mid-Atlantic Radio Kontrol Society and dates back to the 1970’s.

The day showcases a variety of radio-controlled model aircrafts, many that are actually handmade.

MARKS RC Club President Jason Taylor says the goal of the event is to spread awareness. He says drone technology continues to advance and can potentially be a gateway into a career in aviation.

“Drone technology is the way of the future. It’s how I got into it back in the 90’s and now I do this commercially. It’s just to get kids interested and out the house to enjoy the open sky,” Taylor said.

Taylor tells 47 ABC they have members from age 13 to 80 years old.  We’re told they’re always welcoming new members and have training programs after their monthly meetings that are open to the public.
