Inaugural Lavender Bloom Festival captures essence of nature, connects community with outdoors
HEBRON, Md.- The scent of lavender brought the community together Saturday morning for a unique event over in Hebron. Wildwood Lavender Farm hosted their first-ever Lavender Bloom Festival.
Owners tell 47 ABC they started growing the lavender back in 2016 and now offer 7 varieties.
Attendees got the chance to pick their own bunches, participate in a geocache activity, learn how to de-bud lavender, and shop with several local vendors.
Owners also tell us the event was a way to get more people out to enjoy the space. “Trying to bring more nature, animal life, and pollinators so people can enjoy nature a little bit and we want to share that to bring some peace and comfort to people,” Wildwood Lavender Farm Owner Shana King said.
The farm will host a Night Sky event in August to for those looking for more ways to get out in nature.
