Impact Festival raises awareness on mental health, suicide prevention
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – It was a day of community building and raising awareness on suicide prevention in Bridgeville. The 2nd annual Impact Festival made its return Saturday morning.
It’s spearheaded by The Inspiring Project, which was founded by Delaware native Chase Marvil.
The day included several vendors, games, food, and lots more for the whole family to enjoy. The goal of the event is to advocate for mental health and stop bullying amongst youth.
Marvil tells 47 ABC it’s an important message that’s dear to his heart and he hopes to save many lives in the process. “Mental health is something that a lot of people don’t really talk about because they feel like they can’t talk about it. This is a type of event that shows it’s okay not to be okay,” Marvil said.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the community that surrounds me. It’s been very surprising and eye opening to see how much the community can come together and support someone who’s passionate about what they’re willing to accomplish.”
100% of the proceeds will go to benefit The Inspiring Project’s annual scholarships and support community partners in the world of mental health and suicide prevention.
To date, the Inspiring Project has impacted over 100,000 people worldwide. If you’d like to join the cause, you can use #TheInspiringProject across your social media platforms.
