Emerging Leader Amanda Hewes on Good Morning Delmarva

47ABC – Amanda Hewes is the education program manager at Christiana Care’s Gene Editing Institute.

She was honored among 10 other women with the 2023 Outstanding Delaware Women in STEM Award by Million Women Mentors which is a program dedicated to encouraging girls and women to pursue careers in STEM by connecting them with mentors in these fields.

She was awarded for her dedication to encouraging young girls to pursue careers in STEM. Hewes introduced Gene Editing Institute’s CRISPR in a Box educational toolkit into classrooms across Delaware. It has helped students learn more about gene editing and career paths in science and technology.
