UPDATE: Seaford crash under investigation
SEAFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police investigating a crash that happened Monday morning in Seaford.
According to police, just before 11:30 a.m., a Mack dump truck was traveling behind a Dodge Journey eastbound on Concord Road. The Dodge was preparing to turn left onto Baker Mill Road, but police say the driver of the dump truck was following too closely. In an attempt to avoid hitting the Dodge, he swerved, but in doing so the truck rolled onto its side, landing partially on the Dodge and spilling its load of gravel.
The driver of the Dodge, a 53-year-old Federalsburg man, was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the dump truck, a 62-year-old Seaford man, was also taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He was issued a ticket for following a motor vehicle too closely.
