Worcester County Humane Society in need of supplies, shelter now at full capacity

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md.- The Worcester County Humane Society is now in what they’re calling “crisis mode.” The shelter is looking to the community for help with supplies needed for day-to-day operations. That includes cleaning supplies like trash bags, bleach, paper towels, wipes, and more. Staff tell us those materials are crucial to cracking down on the potential of diseases and more that could cause animals to get sick. There’s also a need for food, beds, blankets, and basic office materials.

On top of that, the shelter tells us they’re now at full capacity. “The waitlist for animals to come in here is getting longer and longer. The faster we can get animals out of here and open that space we can help the community,” Shelter Manager Kaitlyn Fitzhugh said.

“I know that we can always count of the community. Anything that we need they come through. We have a great community here in Worcester County.”

Donations are being accepted in person at the shelter or online. The shelter tells us they’re also in need of fosters and volunteers.
