Virginia man sentenced in Worcester Co. for sex abuse of a minor
SNOW HILL, Md. – A Virginia man has been convicted and sentenced on sex abuse charges in Worcester County.
Earlier this month, 32-year-old Alexander Wu was sentenced to 25 years behind bars with all but 10 years suspended. Wu will also be placed on 5 years of supervised probation and required to register as a lifetime sex offender and have no unsupervised contact with children. This comes after his conviction of sex abuse of a minor and third degree sex offense charges.
The charges stem from a complaint of sex abuse that the victim originally reported to Montgomery County, Maryland authorities in January 2020. Further investigation revealed that the abuse took place in multiple jurisdictions, including Ocean City, where the victim disclosed that Wu, her cheerleading coach, had sexually abused her. The victim was 14 years old at the time of the offense.
