Special Event Zone announced in OC for Cruisin’ event

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City will be a designated Special Event Zone next week as Cruisin’ Ocean City returns.

The Special Event Zone will begin on Tuesday, May 16th, and run through Sunday, May 21st. The zone reduces established speed limits and increases fines for violations. Legislation signed in 2020 also allows for increased penalties for specific motor vehicle violations. Similar to a construction zone, violators will face increased fines, or in some cases, arrest.

Citizens should expect to see a significant police presence throughout Ocean City. Additionally, significant traffic congestion and alternate traffic patterns should be anticipated all weekend.
