Sketch honors life of former Wicomico Co. Executive Bob Culver
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Former Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver’s legacy lives on as a sketch of Culver will be displayed in the county executive’s office permanently.
That portrait portrays Culver doing one of his final tasks which was the removal of the controversial Winder monument.
Organizers tell us that Culver was a dedicated servant to all who called Wicomico County home.
County Executive Julie Giordano says the portrait is just one way of honoring the lasting impact he had on the community. “I think it’s super important for people to understand just how much he really did love this community and loved this county. He traveled all around and talked to everyone. It didn’t matter if they were a department head or if they worked on the roads, he made himself available,” Giordano said.
“So the meaning behind it is Bob will forever be remembered as the who was the hand behind removing that moment,” Organizer Doug Marshall said.
Giordano tells us that Culver also set the standard on how someone should take on the role as county executive. She hopes to connect with the community the same way he did.
