Pair arrested following Accomack Co. barricade incident
ACCOMACK CO., Va. – Police have charged two people following a barricade incident in Accomack County last week.
On May 4th, deputies responded to a residence in the 23000 block of Daugherty Road to execute a warrant for violation of probation and parole terms. At the scene, a female subject told deputies that the suspect was not inside the residence. The female reportedly exhibited nervous actions, making statements that led deputies to believe that the suspect was there.
Deputies then entered the residence and found the subject in a room wielding a knife and was able to barricade himself inside. After a few hours, the subject left the room but failed to comply with orders. The suspect was tased, but there was no effect, resulting in police deploying the K9 to place the suspect under arrest.
The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Macio Stewart, was taken to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained during the incident. He was later released and taken to the Accomack County Jail.
The female subject, identified as 23-year-old Shanice David, was arrested for obstruction of justice. She was held at the Accomack County Jail without bond.
