Ocean City Elementary students get slimy treat after raising over $500k for heart health

 

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City Elementary School celebrating a milestone Tuesday afternoon of raising over $500,000 for heart health.

The school spearhead’s the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge in Worcester County.

As a reward, student got the opportunity to slime and pour buckets of ice water on their PE teachers and principal.

We’re told over the course of three decades the school has been a champion for health wellness.

That money raised goes to make a real big impact. “With the Kids Heart Challenge, we’re really focused on educating the youth on how to take care of themselves, their mind and body. There’s also a layer to hands-on CPR and stroke awareness to the program so students really get to learn how to save a life,” AHA’s Senior Director of School Engagement Kate Poole said.
