Morning vehicle fire in Worcester Co. ruled arson

BERLIN, Md. – Fire marshals are investigating a vehicle fire that was determined to be arson.

At around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to the intersection of Mary Road and Sinepuxent Road in Berlin for a reported vehicle fire. On arrival, crews found significant fire conditions in a Ford Transit cargo van that was abandoned on the side of the road.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire with minor extension to a nearby farm field.

Further investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally set. No injuries were reported.
