Man sentenced to 98 years for sexually abusing minor in Wicomico Co.
SALISBURY, Md. – A man convicted of rape and sex abuse of a minor has been sentenced to prison.
29-year-old Francisco Barrales-Aguirre was convicted back in November of sexual abuse of a minor, attempted second degree rape, and other related offenses. A judge sentenced Barrales-Aguirre to a total of 98 years behind bars.
The charges stem from an investigation that began in April 2021, when the victim reported sexual abuse at the hands of Barrales-Aguirre, which reportedly began in December 2020 and continued through April 2021. The victim was under the age of 10.
If he is ever released from prison, Barrales-Aguirre will be subject to lifetime sex offender supervision by the Department of Parole and Probation and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
