Country singer Jimmie Allen issues apology amidst rape allegations

DELAWARE – Milton Country singer Jimmie Allen is issuing an apology, speaking out to his family amidst a lawsuit against him on rape and sexual abuse claims.

Allen took to social media Thursday evening, apologizing to his wife for publicly humiliating her with his affair. He has admitted to having a relationship with the person who filed the suit against him, but maintains that it was a consensual relationship.

Allen also apologized to his kids for “being a poor example of a man and a father.”

He went on to say, “I’m working on becoming a better person that my kids can be proud of. My goal is to be better than the generation before me.”

Allen seemingly blamed the industry for his actions, saying “This business takes so much from you. It’s full of temptations that can cripple you and ruin everything you’ve built. I’m ashamed that I wasn’t strong enough to withstand them.”

The lawsuit was filed last week in Tennessee federal court by a former manager of Allen’s.
