Good Morning Delmarva on the Alzheimer’s Advocates Rally

47ABC – Today, Alzheimer’s advocates from Delaware will be joining with advocates from all over to rally for access to treatment in Philadelphia.They are calling for the reversal of the Biden Administration’s decision to deny people with Alzheimer’s access to approved drugs.

Sean Dwyer, the Delaware Director of Government Affairs for the Alzheimer’s Association , explains why reversing this decision is important to the livelihood of Alzheimer’s patients.

Dwyer says in order to be eligible for Medicaid coverage of drugs they would have to be enrolled in a clinical trial.
He says this impacts patient at the earliest stages of Alzheimer’s.

Which is detrimental to the fight against the disease.
