Fire marshals investigating arson at vacant Salisbury apartment building

1280 Church Street Arson

SALISBURY, Md. – Fire marshals are investigating an arson at a vacant Salisbury apartment building.

Just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to 616 East Church Street for a reported fire. The fire, which was discovered by a passerby, was quickly extinguished.

State fire marshals responded to the scene and determined that the fire began on the second floor and was intentionally set. We’re told this building has had two previous fires in it, in January 2022 and June 2022, both of which were also determined to be arson.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for setting these fires. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy State Fire Marshals at 410-713-3780.
