Early morning crash in Bethany Beach takes out utility pole

BETHANY BEACH, Del. – An early morning crash on Coastal Highway in Bethany Beach Sunday took down a utility pole. Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company says they received a call around 4AM for a single vehicle crash. They say one person was trapped inside a vehicle, while a pole was down on top of it.

Officials say they had Delmarva Power come and secure the power. Then they were able to safely rescue the person from the vehicle. They were transported for minor injuries.

Millville Fire, Sussex County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were called to the scene to assist during the incident.
