Crisfield man charged with possession, distribution of child pornography

CRISFIELD, Md. – A Crisfield man is facing more than 20 charges following an investigation into child pornography.

Maryland State Police say they launched an investigation earlier this month into possession of child pornography in Somerset County. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was served on Wednesday at the residence of the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Daniel Elliot. A preliminary forensic review of the suspect’s cell phone revealed numerous images of child pornography that were reportedly being distributed via social media.

Elliott has been charged with 16 counts of possession of child pornography and 9 counts of distribution of child pornography. He is currently being held pending an initial appearance in front of a District Court Commissioner.
