Cape wins Henlopen Conference Championship

LEWES, Del.– Cape Henlopen defeated Indian River 11-1 on Friday afternoon to win the Henlopen Conference Championship.

Indian River would get on the board first with an RBI single from Chase Ruley in the top of the 1st. Cape would break the game open in the bottom of the 3rd with a 2 run RBI single from sophomore Jase Mitchell. Catcher Brenn Scott would take the wind out of Indian Rivers sails in the bottom of the 3rd with a 3 run bomb over the left center field wall.

The Vikings offense was too much for Indian River to handle and their defense was solid throughout all 6 innings of play. Starting Cape pitcher Jaxon Clampitt pitched all 6 innings only surrendering 5 hits, 1 earned run and 1 K.
