Philadelphia man arrested on drug charges
Lewes, De- Delaware State Police arrested a Philadelphia man on drug charges following a traffic stop Saturday Morning.
On May 20, around 9:30 a.m a trooper pulled over a vehicle after they witnessed it cross double yellow lines to pass a slower vehicle on Dairy Farm Road.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the only occupant of the vehicle, 45 year old John Romano.
During the stop the trooper noticed the strong odor of marijuana, and when questioned Romano produced large quantity of cannabis oil.
The trooper also noticed what appeared to be a several clear plastic bags of marijuana, the amount of which appeared to be larger than the personal use quantity.
Romano was taken into custody without incident, and further search of his car led to the discovery of over 170 grams of marijuana, dozens of grams of other consumable marijuana products, and over 7 grams of cocaine.
Romano has been charged with felony possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance Tier 1 quantity.
