Sussex Co. spelling bee winner announced

LEWES, Del. – Declan Durand of Love Creek Elementary School in Lewes took home the top prize at the first-ever Sussex County Libraries Spelling Bee.

Declan won the 9-round competition, beating out 19 other students from 10 local schools. Declan will now advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee this summer in Washington D.C.
