Wico. Co. Sheriff’s Office still working to solve Stefon Hagans cold case

Sephon Hagans HomicideSalisbury, Md. – Three years ago on the early morning of December 14th, family man Stefon Hagans was killed near his home in Salisbury.

Back in 2019, the Sheriff’s Office said this was a typical “who done it” case. The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is hoping that shedding more light on the case will spark the publics interest in providing more information.

It’s been more than 3 years since 31-year-old Stefon Hagans was shot dead just outside his home on Dale Lane. Captain Tim Robinson said the department is dedicated to bringing the perpetrator to justice.

“With the new information, we have some potential targets of interest and we believe those targets of interest are right here in Salisbury still,” Capt. Robinson said.

Shortly after the murder, community members spoke to 47 ABC, saying they were devastated by the loss of the loving father. “It’s just really sad and I hope the family and I pray that they are all strong and pull together through all this,” the neighbor said.

His mother, Stephanie Moore, spoke out in 2020, saying she has no idea why someone would want to murder her son or who it was.

“It’s not fair to these kids for them to grow up without a father,” Moore said. “He’s got three kids, young kids. They do not even get to be raised by him, he doesn’t get to see them be grown.”

The Sheriff’s Office says they are hoping to bring this case to an end soon. Captain Robinson says everybody wants a resolution. He said in these cases nobody wants to wonder what happened, who’s out there, who committed these crimes and everyone wants to be able to give the family that sense of closure.

“While this case is 3 and a half years old we’ve never stopped working on it we’ve never stopped thinking about it and we want to keep the momentum going with this information that is coming in and recently coming to light and we are hoping that with the public’s help, we are going to get this case solved and we are going to find justice for his family,” Capt. Robinson said.
