Spring Fest event looks to connect community with various health resources
BRIDGEVILLE, Del.- The Cornerstone Community Center is set to host their 2nd annual Spring Fest with a goal of providing the local area with more resources.
The event also celebrates the nonprofit’s anniversary.
Several community organizations and partners will be present, sharing information on mental health education, resources for those who’ve been sexually assaulted, and more.
TidalHealth’s mobile clinic will also be on site for several health screenings.
Executive Director Latoya Harris says they want to eliminate barriers to access. “When we decided that we were going to have this center, we were going to bring the resources right here to our town. The goal is easy access which is the main problem with people getting health care needs that they have met,” Harris said.
“We deliver a lot of things but with this event we’d really like for people to come out so they can meet those service providers face to face. They’ll know that they’re sincerely there for them.”
That event will be this upcoming Saturday, April 15th at 2:00p.m. The location is 101 N. Main St.
The nonprofit is also accepting donations for families who were displaced by the recent tornado that struck through Sussex County earlier this month.
