Ocean City’s annual Spring Fest is right around the corner

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City’s Spring Fest is set to kick off this year starting May 4th and run through the 7th at the inlet past the boardwalk.

City officials say they’re excited for the return of the event. Ocean City Special Events Director Frank Miller says their goal is to not only draw in large crowds from out of town — but also to support local businesses.

“It really is our official opening of the summer for the town,” Miller said. “People are starting to come out already in Ocean City but this event is it.”

Miller says that it’s a big budget event, but it is worth it for our guests and patrons and residents. The Public Works Maintenance team started setting up for Spring Fest on the 21st and have a week and a half till the vendors start coming and preparing for the event.

“It’s events like this that help keep those businesses alive and active here in town for outside the normal summer and beach season,” Miller said.

Ocean City Special Events Director Frank Miller says their goal is to not only draw in large crowds from out of town, but also to support local businesses. Before COVID, the typical busy season was from June to August. After the pandemic, Miller says Ocean City has picked up a lot more in the off season months of spring, starting with this event.

Ocean City Special Event Coordinator, Brenda Moore, says the event will feature over 300 vendors, ranging from food to live music and handmade crafts.

“Historically this has been one of the first big weekends of the year,” Moore said. “It really brings everyone out to sit, watch some music and enjoy our community.”

Moore says the event provides an economic boost for local businesses ahead of the summer season.

“We put up the event,” Moore said. “The people come here where they can eat in restaurants, stay in hotels, and shop in the shops so it definitely does affect the entire community in a positive way.”

Moore says that she and her department are really excited to work with a unique group of people for Spring Fest. There will be hundreds of different crafting vendors, gourmet food and live music.

There will be 3 live music events for people to be able to enjoy. Shadows of the 60s “A Tribute to Motown’s Super Groups”, will be performing on May 4th at 7:00 p.m., with tickets selling for $20. Collective Soul will be performing on May 5th at 7:00 p.m., with tickets selling for $35. Lastly, Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives will be performing on May 6th at 7:00 p.m., starting at $25.
