Hops on the River festival returns to downtown Salisbury, local businesses expand customer base

SALISBURY, Md.- It was a celebration of craft beer Saturday afternoon as the 3rd annual Hops on the River festival made its return to downtown Salisbury.

The event allows attendees to enjoy unlimited samples of over 30 craft beers from local breweries.

There were also games, music, food, and several vendors to shop with.

Among those breweries was a local Salisbury favorite, Burnish Beer Company, pouring up their house IPA and a new Jellyfish Apocalypse beer.

They tell 47 ABC the festival gave them the chance to expand their reach. “We are still kind of the new kids on the block, so we love doing things like this and meeting new people all the time. They’re always say they haven’t been to get to us yet and they can’t wait to come. They tell us it looks beautiful,” Co-Owner Matthew Shockley said.

“Most often they’re pleasantly surprised that they’ve developed a new taste for something or found a new beer they’re really excited about. It’s really fun to talk to people and for them to try things and give us feedback.”

Burnish also tells us they’re gearing up for the summer season and will open up additional outdoor dining options for customers to enjoy.
