Greenwood breeder providing pet supplies for tornado victims

GREENWOOD, Del. – We’ve seen many homes in Sussex County with severe damage as a result of Saturday’s tornado.

While there are places offering assistance, it can be tough when you are trying to house not only yourself but your furry friends as well. In Greenwood, G&G Yorkies has several kennels, portable fences, food, and other supplies available free of charge.

Those supplies are for both large and small dogs, cats, and even bunny rabbits. Owner Patricia Geoghegan tells 47 ABC many families are currently in transition, and they want to help in any way they can.

“There was one person we talked to that had 5 pets and their house was totally knocked off the foundation and destroyed and they moved in with family. I was thinking, where do they put these 5 pets in someone else’s home?” Geoghegan said.

“It’s got to be very devastating to the family or just moving into a shelter or somewhere the pets have no place to go. So hopefully we can help these animals feel safe.”

G&G Yorkies also tell us they’ve reached out to other breeders and pet stores to donate supplies.
