Crash involving motorcycle seriously injures man in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle that seriously injured a New Jersey man Sunday evening.

At around 6:50 p.m., police responded to the area of North Governors Avenue and Cecil Street for a report of a serious vehicle crash. Officers located the 45-year-old male victim, who was suffering from serious injuries as a result of the crash. The victim was initially taken to a nearby hospital but was later airlifted to a New Castle County hospital for further treatment.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was traveling northbound on North Governors Avenue on a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, approaching Cecil Street. At the same time, a 2020 Dodge Durango, driven by a 68-year-old Dover man, was on Cecil Street and turned onto North Governors Avenue, into the path of the victim. The victim was ejected from the motorcycle as a result of the crash.

Dover Police are still investigating this crash and say there have been no charges filed at this time.
