Cambridge PD investigating shots fired following Shot Spotter Alert

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Police are investigating a shooting that was reported in the Cambridge area Wednesday evening.

At around 7:20 p.m., officers were alerted to a “Shot Spotter Alert” for a single gunshot in the area of Rosemont Avenue and Camelia Street. Officers responded and attempted to locate any victims, witnesses, evidence, or damaged property. While at the scene, officers were contacted by a concerned citizen who reported that they had heard multiple shots and observed several male subjects who appeared to be juveniles between 13 and 15 years old in dark clothing on Rosemon, who were in a shooting stance and shooting towards Camelia.

Further investigation and utilization of camera systems in the area showed that there were three juvenile-aged males who had walked from the Rigby Avenue area to Rosemont Avenue. The subjects were seen firing two shots at a subject that was walking in the 900 block of Camelia Street. Officers searched the area and did not find any suspects. The victim who was being shot at has also not been located at this time.

The suspects were described as the following:

  • Male subject with white colored shorts and either white shoes or tall white socks
  • Male subject wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white marking on the dark, dark shoes
  • Male subject wearing a puffy black jacket, face mask, khaki pants, black or blue shoes

The possible victim was described as a juvenile aged male subject wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, light colored jeans with holes, and black shoes.
