Jarrell Cole (left) and Davonte Cole

SALISBURY, Md. – Two brothers have been charged in connection to a drug investigation that began earlier this year.

The investigation began on February 16th, when the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team conducted a drug investigation into 18-year-old Jarrell Cole distributing controlled dangerous substances. A traffic stop was initiated as a result of the investigation on Outten Road, and the driver of the vehicle was identified as Jarrell Cole’s brother, 21-year-old Davonte Cole. Davonte was known to have a warrant for violation of probation for weapons offenses.

Police say the vehicle did not stop and fled down Outten Road. Due to the high rates of speed and the fact that a school in the immediate area was dismissing students, the pursuit was terminated. The vehicle continued fleeing before it crashed into a stop sign at the intersection of Outten Road and Parker Road. The vehicle continued driving down Parker Road before crashing into a yard near the intersection of Phillip Morris Drive and Sharen Drive. The occupants then reportedly fled the scene after the vehicle became disabled.

Jarrell Cole was located in the area and taken into custody, however, Davonte Cole was not located. Police say an amount of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana indicative of street level sales was located in the vehicle and within the flight path. A firearm magazine and ammunition was also located at the scene of the crash.

Jarrell was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl mix, possession with intent to distribute cannabis, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, and illegal possession of ammunition. He was released the following day on an unsecured bond.

An arrest warrant was issued for Davonte Cole, who was served on April 4th for this case as well as the violation of probation warrant. Police say while they were attempting to serve the warrant, Davonte fled on foot from a traffic stop into a wooded area of Beaglin Park Drive. He was quickly taken into custody and charged with numerous drug and traffic offenses, and is being held without bond.
