‘We’re here to help:’ DE Distinguished Young Women scholarships program now accepting applications
DELAWARE – As the cost of a higher education continues to rise, one national organization looks to support young women on that journey avoid debt.
Applications for Distinguished Young Women of Delaware’s scholarship program are now open.
The competition involves putting junior female students through a series of workshops with a goal of providing them tools for personal growth.
The organization tells us eliminating some of a student’s financial burden will hopefully lead to endless possibilities. “Women are doing amazing things in this world and we want to be able to make sure that every woman has the opportunity to do something amazing and not just the people who can afford it. We’re here to help,” DYW Delaware State Program Chair Mallory Nielsen Hardy said.
Nationally, the organization has a goal of providing $1 billion in rewards to colleges and universities.
We’re told even if you don’t place in the national competition, there’s still scholarship opportunities available on the state level.
The deadline for those interested is May 1st.
