UPDATE: Victim dies from injuries in trooper involved crash in Wicomico Co.

SALISBURY, Md. – Maryland State Police have released more information on the trooper-involved crash that took place earlier this month in Wicomico County.

The crash happened at around 7:30 a.m. on March 6th, on the Route 13 bypass in the area of St. Lukes Road. Traffic was stopped in the area while a tow truck was working to remove a disabled vehicle from the median when a trooper reportedly hit the back of a stopped Honda pickup truck.

The victim, identified as 73-year-old Daniel Clark of Norfolk, Virginia, was pronounced dead shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

The trooper has been identified as Corporal Kevin Moore, a 15-year veteran of the Maryland State Police. He is assigned to the Field Operations Bureau and is currently on restricted duty, Maryland State Police say.

MSP released the following statement on the incident:

“The Maryland State Police is committed to conducting a complete and impartial investigation of this crash. Once completed, the crash investigation will be provided to the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.”
