St. Patrick’s Day block party event brings community together, highlights local small businesses

GEORGETOWN, Md. – St. Patrick’s Day celebrations were still underway over in Georgetown Saturday afternoon as chamber of commerce hosted a block party event.

The family-friendly day included several vendors, live music, a photo booth, and games.

Chamber of Commerce President Linda Price says the goal was to find a unique way to celebrate the holiday while bringing the community together.

Price also tells 47ABC it was the perfect opportunity to showcase small businesses in the area. “These are all small and homegrown businesses. We have some others out here who have been doing it for a long time, but it’s really about what can we do to help our small businesses grow and prosper. Getting their name out there and getting people to recognize what they have is what’s most important,” Price said.

The block party event also included a bake off.

Proceeds from the day will support Pathways to Success.
