Seaford falls to William Penn in Quarterfinals
SEAFORD, Del.– The Seaford Bluejays had their season come to an end on Saturday afternoon after falling to William Penn 71-61.
Seaford would start the game in the best way possible, Kashmier Wise would be automatic from 3 point land in the 1st quarter. Senior Brent Ricketts would knock down some shots for the Jays as well. William Penn would find themselves down 20-10 after 1 quarter of play.
The Colonials would come alive in the 2nd quarter by opening up on a 7-0 run to bring the lead within 3 points. The Jays would do just enough to stay out in front and go into halftime with a 33-30 lead.
The second half is where it would start to get ugly for the Jays. Forced passes and missed free throws would not bode well for Seaford down the stretch. Kai Gatson for William Penn would torch the Jays in late minutes of the 3rd quarter.
Seaford would only be down 63-61 but Junior guard Careen Bolden would get called for a technical foul and give the Colonial two free charity buckets.
William Penn advances to the Bob Carpenter Center for the final four.
