Salisbury man arrested for assault following stabbing
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is behind bars following a stabbing that sent one to the hospital.
The incident took place in the 1200 block of Flamingo Drive on Friday. Deputies arrived at the scene to find a 29-year-old man in the front yard of the residence with multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken by EMS to TidalHealth for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Further investigation revealed that an argument broke out between the victim and suspect, 21-year-old Athoney Gambrill. At some point during the argument, Gambrill allegedly grabbed a large knife and began physically assaulting the victim by stabbing him. The knife was wrestled away from Gambrill and 911 was contacted.
Gambrill was taken into custody at the scene, and a search and seizure warrant was served on the residence, which resulted in the recovery of the knife used in the stabbing. The knife was described as a fixed blade knife with an approximately 8-inch blade and blood stains.
Gambrill is currently being held without bond on first and second degree and reckless endangerment charges.
