Pedestrian in critical condition following crash in Easton
EASTON, Md. – Easton Police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian Tuesday morning.
Just after 7:30 a.m., police say a 67-year-old Easton woman was crossing the marked crosswalk on Idlewild Avenue, closest to Martin Court. As she entered the eastbound lane of the crosswalk, she was reportedly hit by a 2014 GMC pickup truck being driven by a 58-year-old Easton man.
The victim was flown to the R Adam Cowley Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police Aviation, where she is currently listed in critical condition.
The male driver was not injured.
We’re told a great portion of Idlewild Avenue was closed for just over two hours while the crash was investigated. Easton Police say they want to acknowledge that they were aware of the disruption that this created, as many patients were in need of making their appointments. Efforts were made to help balance the need for medical appointments to remain on time while also creating a safe environment for investigators and emergency personnel to work and investigate.
