Man arrested following firearm discharge in Milford store

MILFORD, Del. – A Milford man is behind bars after an investigation into a firearm discharge led to the recovery of drugs.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the BP gas station in the 600 block of Northwest Front Street for a report of an individual discharging a firearm in the store. Further investigation revealed that a man had placed an item for purchase onto the counter, and in doing so, discharged a handgun in his pocket toward the ground. The suspect then fled the store.

Police located him inside a vehicle being driven on Lakeview Avenue, and a traffic stop was initiated. The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Damian Lee, and 840.7 grams of suspected marijuana was located during the stop. A search warrant was subsequently obtained for Lee’s residence, leading to the discovery of 60.8 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen firearm.

Lee was subsequently arrested and charged with numerous drug and firearm offenses. He was held at SCI on an $85,300 cash only bond.
