Lights, camera, action: 7th annual OC Film Festival set to return this weekend
OCEAN CITY, Md. -All roads lead to Ocean City for film enthusiasts as the 7th annual OC Film Festival returns this weekend.
It’s the Art League of Ocean City’s initiative, showcasing more than 75 films from local and international filmmakers.
There’s a variety of categories from black history to a dark and stormy category for horror movie lovers.
The art league tells us these are films you won’t see anywhere else and that the event provides a platform for filmmakers to showcase their talents and network. “Before the Ocean City Film Festival there was no real outlet for Ocean City oriented filmmakers, Worcester County filmmakers, or the Eastern Shore as a whole. We’ve created something that wasn’t there before,” OC Art League Creative Director B.L. Strang-Moya said.
“If you’re a filmmaker and you create work, it doesn’t mean anything unless someone sees it right? So, it’s like when a tree falls in the forest and no one’s there. This gives filmmakers feedback on their work, and they get to sit in the audience and see how people react to the films,” OC Art League Executive Director Rina Thaler
The film festival kicks off Thursday, March 2nd with an open reception at the Holiday Inn Suites.
