‘He would be very honored:’ New scholarship fund honors life of beloved Milford teacher

MILFORD, Del.- More than $17,000 in new scholarship money is up for grabs thanks to the Milford Rotary Club Educational Foundation.

One of those awards looks to honor the life of a member who passed away last year. The Dr. William Warren Memorial Scholarship will offer a $2,500 award to a high school senior looking to major in education.

Dr. Warren was a long -time teacher of the Milford School District, a trustee of the foundation, and a beloved community member.

The foundation tells us this was not only a way to celebrate his life but honor his work to Milford. “Dr. Warren was very much interested in the students and in anyway he’d be able to help them, especially through English Literature and other educational fields. He would be very honored to have a scholarship in his name,” O’Neill said.

Those interested have until April 20th to apply.

The Milford Rotary Club Educational Foundation also has several other scholarship opportunities available.

Students can visit their school guidance counselors for more information or visit www.milfordrotaryclub.com.
