Hartly man arrested following altercation at apartment complex

DOVER, Del. – A Hartly man is behind bars following an altercation at a Dover apartment early Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident took place just before 2 a.m. at Woodmill Apartments, located at 1300 South Farmview Drive. The investigation began when officers responded to the area for a 911 disconnect, locating the 33-year-old male victim and another man, 32-year-old Jeremiah Sanquist, next to a vehicle in the parking lot. The victim told police that Sanquist had assaulted him inside of an apartment with a firearm and that Sanquist had discharged a firearm in his apartment earlier in the night.

Sanquist was taken into custody, and officers found a .22 caliber revolver, a .22 LR Derringer, and a .22LR/.45LC Derringer that Sanquist allegedly placed in a nearby vehicle. Damage was also found inside of the victim’s apartment caused by Sanquist during the earlier incident.

Sanquist was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, second degree assault, and criminal mischief under $1000. He was held at SCI on an $81,000 cash bail.
