East Millsboro Elementary teacher honored for March Teacher Who Makes A Difference

MILLSBORO, Del. – Congratulations are in order for our March ‘Teacher Who Makes A Difference,’ Melanie Absher!

Ms. Absher is a 3rd-grade teacher at East Millsboro Elementary school who was also recently named teacher of the year!

Her students say she teaches them lessons that will carry on outside of the classroom. Meanwhile, her co-workers comment on her ability to make every student feel loved and welcomed.

Ms. Absher 47 ABC WMDT, she’s humbled, honored, and getting this award and feedback from her students and their families is beyond meaningful.

Her advice for other teachers is, “I think just putting your students first and just really falling in love with them and building that relationship with them and making all things that feel difficult feel a little bit easier is really the way to go.”
