Dover man arrested for home burglary
DOVER, Del. – A Dover man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a residence Tuesday afternoon.
At around 12:15 p.m., troopers responded to the 100 block of President Drive for a reported burglary. It was learned that the homeowner had been renovating the residence for some time, and when he returned to the property he saw that the lock to the back door had been damaged. The homeowner then allegedly went through the back door, at which time the suspect, 33-year-old Bradley Shores, ran out the front door and went into a different house a short distance away.
Troopers were able to take Shores into custody and found a large and concealed fixed blade knife in his possession.
Shores was charged with second degree burglary, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, attempted theft under $1500, and criminal mischief. He was released on a $7,500 unsecured bond but was later committed to SCI on a violation of probation warrant.
