Crash claims life of one in Berlin Tuesday night

BERLIN, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of one Tuesday night in Worcester County.

Shortly after 11:20 p.m., troopers from the Berlin Barrack responded to Route 113 at Groton Road for a reported multi-vehicle crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a box truck was traveling north on Route 113 when it crashed into a Kia Forte that was traveling west on Groton Road.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Kia, identified as 54-year-old Chauncey McKinley Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene. No other injuries or fatalities were reported.
