Caroline Co. outbuilding destroyed in overnight fire

PRESTON, Md. – Fire marshals are investigating a fire that destroyed a Caroline County outbuilding early Thursday morning.

The fire was reported just after 3 a.m. at 5100 Frazier Neck Road. Firefighters with the Preston Volunteer Fire Company responded to the blaze, which was placed under control in roughly 45 minutes.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. Total damage has been estimated at $80,000. Additionally, seven cats and one lamb are unaccounted for.
